About the Author
Jana is a wife, sister, daughter, friend, writer, actor and more. Her passion is developing material for her company of actor friends.
She enjoys creative projects - from writing material to convey a story, to guiding and rehearsing actors to bring it to life, to directing and maneuvering a team of talented actors and tireless crew to put their best foot forward in scrambling to get the show out - all this describes Jana at her creative best....putting together projects that briefly and humorously suspend time and belief.

She originally started writing for a local cable show which eventually spilled over to church where several of her pieces were green-lighted. From there the idea for her book, "And God Created Human", came together. She describes her style of writing as leaning towards British humor - a bit wacky, very physical, and a tendency to laugh at oneself.

The heart behind her book is based on her own relationship with Christ. She feels He is "by far the most interesting and exciting person that ever walked the face of this earth and yet," she says, "when people talk about Him they sound as if He's an ogre living upstairs judging people left and right. Or One so holy that He has no patience for those He created. I don't think this is the case at all. Not only is He loving, forgiving, gracious, and all those wonderful things we know about Him, I think He has a tremendous sense of humor and thoroughly enjoys the company of His children. He's joyful and fun. I want to convey this message in my work. I want people to have a refreshing look at God and be more curious about Him to the point where they will open up the Bible to get some answers. My goal is to steer people towards Him."

Reviews
Midwest Book Review (5-Star on Amazon.com)
Actress and cable show writer Jana Tether presents And God Created Human: A Collection of Scenes and Monologues, an anthology of brief theater-style scenes suitable for reading or performance that bring to life God's message of love, hope, and support in daily life. The subjects of these creative dramas range from insecurity and temptation to spiritual warfare, fear, and the joy of worship. Scripture verses and thought-provoking questions designed to stimulate discussions on how God's Word applies to the here and now round out this welcome resource for church libraries and Christian community theater.

Reverend Dee Cooper, Church of the Hills Presbyterian, Colorado
"This is a playful winner! By biblically characterizing God as an approachable, compassionate, and loving Creator, Jana supports and nutures through each scene a genuine understanding of God for all people. Through laughter and poignancy, she accompanies the audience to a new place of this journey of faith. A bonus of this book is that Jana provides her own candid and comical self reflection as she describes her own struggles through the setup of each scene."

Nancy Lee Vonderhorst, Pastor
Barryville United Methodist Church, New York
"The scenes are delightful in their simplicity and thought-provoking in their depth. This book is wonderful for small country churches like mine or large-member churches that have a much larger staging area. I have tried to use pre-printed plays, and longer skits, but they took too much time and too many rehearsals. These are perfect for our situations."
